The Information we collect
Octopus Events collects data to operate effectively and provide you with the best experience with our services.
We collect information about you when you enquire about our services, book an event with us or register with us. We also collect information when you voluntarily complete customer surveys and provide feedback. Why we collect it
Octopus Events uses the data we collect to operate our business and provide you with the event services we offer. We also may use the data to communicate with you, for example, informing you of details about your event.
We may send your relevant details to suppliers (venues, caterers, teambuilding companies, transportation organisations, hotels, airlines destination management companies and other third-party suppliers who are directly and necessarily involved in the delivery of the event). Your information will never be supplied to anyone outside Octopus Events without first obtaining your consent, unless we are obliged or permitted by law to disclose it.
Data Protection – How long we will hold your data for
If you are a client, or prospective client with an enquiry, we will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use our services and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met.
If you are a guest attending an event that is being delivered by Octopus Events, all data stored will be destroyed within 6 months of the delivery of the event.
Octopus Events is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK as a “data controller” in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. Further details of the registration are available at www.ico.org.uk
